This stream is located in Clifton Park, in a densely populated area. It is fed by springs, has some wild brook trout, and needs protection. It is impacted by runoff, bank erosion, and angler harvest in spawning tributaries. A retention pond, whose purpose is to hold and delay storm water runoff from reaching a tributary to the stream, has been repaired and improved to allow better settling of sediment and more cooling of water before it reaches the creek. Chapter members are monitoring water temperatures and have liaison with town staff and local residents to preserve and improve stream quality. Future activities will include a stream cleanup and evaluation and possible repair of riparian conditions at certain sites.
